Who we are
MovieOrbit is a movie and TV discovery guide operated by Roinfo. It does not stream full movies or TV episodes — it shows catalog information, trailers, and where titles may be available to watch. Catalog data is served from our backend.
By installing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide through use of the App
We do not require you to create an account. When you use the App, the following may be sent to our servers:
- Search queries you type (for example, a movie or series title).
- Filters you apply, such as genre, spoken or original language, release year, rating, and streaming provider.
- Library actions: whether you marked a title as saved for later or watched, including the title's TMDB ID and media type (movie or TV).
3.2 Device identifier
To keep "My List" across sessions without an account, the App generates a device ID:
- On Android and iOS, this is a consistent device identifier (via the device's platform ID). It often remains the same after reinstall.
- On web or unsupported platforms, a random UUID is stored in local preferences.
This identifier is stored on the device and sent with catalog, search, detail, and "My List" requests so we can return your saved and watched titles. This is not your name, email, phone number, or Google account. It can still be a persistent identifier for that device.
3.3 Information collected automatically
When the App talks to our servers, standard technical data may be processed as part of operating the service, for example:
- Date and time of the request
- App version and basic request metadata
- IP address and similar network data (typically in server or hosting logs)
We do not use this to build a public profile of you. Server logs may be retained for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
3.4 Information stored only on your device
The App stores locally (using on-device preferences and image cache): the device ID, cached app configuration (labels, ad settings), and cached poster and image files for faster loading.
Uninstalling the App deletes this local data. Server-side "My List" data tied to the device ID may remain until we delete it (see Data retention).
3.5 Information we do not collect
The App does not request or collect: name, email address, phone number, or postal address · account credentials or social logins · contacts, calendar, photos, camera, microphone, or files · precise GPS location · payment card or purchase information (the App has no in-app purchases) · health, financial, or other sensitive personal data. The App only requires Internet access.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide movie and TV listings, details, search, and filters
- Save and show your My List (saved and watched titles) on that device
- Load images, fonts, and trailers needed to display the App
- Fetch remote configuration (for example, on-screen labels and whether ads are enabled)
- Show advertising, if ads are enabled
- Promote our other apps (cross-promotion)
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the App and our API
- Comply with law and enforce our terms
We do not sell your personal information.
Legal disclosure
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the App, our users, or our rights.
Advertising
The App is built with Google AdMob. Ads may include: banner ads, native ads in lists, interstitial (full-screen) ads, and app-open ads when you return to the App. Ads can be enabled or disabled through remote configuration.
When ads are on, Google and its partners may collect and use:
- Advertising identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID on Android)
- Device and app information
- Approximate location derived from IP address
- Ad views, clicks, and similar interaction data
- Data used for personalized or non-personalized ads, subject to your device and Google settings
This information is used to show, measure, and improve ads. We do not receive your name or email from AdMob.
Your choices
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization, or reset your advertising ID
- Google's ad settings: adssettings.google.com
- Learn more: policies.google.com/privacy and support.google.com/admob
If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or similar regions, Google may require a consent experience before personalized ads. Where that applies, we will present it as required by Google's policies.
Trailers & YouTube
When you play a trailer, the App loads the video through YouTube. YouTube may set cookies or similar technologies and collect playback and device data according to policies.google.com/privacy.
Trailer thumbnails may load from img.youtube.com.
Data retention
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Device ID on the device | Until you clear app data or uninstall |
| Saved / watched titles on our servers | While associated with that device ID, or until we delete the record on request or as part of routine cleanup |
| Search queries | Processed to return results; not used to create a public profile. May appear in server logs for a limited time |
| Image and config cache | Until overwritten, cleared, or the App is uninstalled |
| Ad data | Controlled by Google AdMob under Google's policies |
If you uninstall the App, local data is removed. Server-side list data may remain linked to the old device ID. On Android/iOS the same device ID may reappear after reinstall, so your list can come back. If you want that server data deleted, contact us with enough detail to identify the request (see Your rights).
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (including India, the EEA/UK, and other regions), you may have the right to:
Ask what personal data we hold about your device
Ask us to correct or delete it
Object to or restrict certain processing
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (e.g. personalized ads)
Because we do not use accounts, we identify "My List" data by device ID. To request deletion, email us from a contact address you can monitor and include:
- The app name: MovieOrbit: Movies & TV Guide
- That you want your My List / device data deleted
- Your Android advertising ID (if you can share it) and approximate dates of use, if available
We may not be able to match a request if we cannot reasonably identify the device record. We will respond within a reasonable period as required by applicable law.
You can also: remove titles from Saved / Watched in the App · clear the App's storage in system settings · uninstall the App · limit ad personalization as described in Advertising.
Children's privacy
The App is a general-audience movie and TV guide and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, contact us and we will delete it where required.
Some titles in the catalog may be intended for mature audiences. Parents should supervise use of the App.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit and at rest (including HTTPS for API traffic). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You use the App at your own risk.
International processing
Our servers and some third parties (including Google) may process data in India, the United States, or other countries. If you use the App from another region, your information may be transferred to those locations. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your own.
Third-party links
The App may link to Google Play, YouTube, or other websites and apps. Their privacy practices are not controlled by us. Review their policies before you use those services.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the Play Store listing or in the App.
